Steve Mellas is a Principal at AQR Capital Management, where he oversees the firm’s operations, client administration and shared services functions. Prior to joining AQR, Steve was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for the Investment Management Division’s asset management operations worldwide. Previously, he managed fixed income trading operations at Morgan Stanley. Steve has taught courses on leadership at Stanford University Graduate School of Business and is currently a faculty member at New York University, where he serves on the EMBA program’s Curriculum Development Committee. He teaches on a range of topics, including business communications, organizational management, operational risk management and leadership. Throughout his career, Steve has been an active member of various industry-wide initiatives focused on improving operational scale and controls in transactions among asset managers, custodians and administrators. He earned a B.A. in economics from Villanova University and an M.B.A. from Pace University.
